Neil Kleinberg

Mr Kleinberg heads DiliVer, a company which uses intellectual property he invented to produce due diligence software that guides buyers, sellers and advisors in minimizing risk during mergers and acquisitions. His information technology expertise has been applied in settings including government, financial services, national security, healthcare, law and telecommunications. Before creating DiliVer he led a key business team at the software company ASI, served as President of VerticalFalls Software, a firm acquired by the Sage enterprise software group in 2007, and founded in two other technology companies: EIC, a management consultancy, and NTC, an electronics firm. Mr Kleinberg’s activities include teaching Strategic Management and Entrepreneurial Finance as an adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins University’s Carey Business School, and serving as a member of the Board of the Johns Hopkins Innovation Factory (a student-led organization which promotes entrepreneurial thinking throughout JHU’s nine schools, by connecting entrepreneurs with mentors, advisors, investors and project sponsors to help incubate start-ups) and as a Mentor of the Founder Institute, a global organization that helps connect technology entrepreneurs with investors. Mr Kleinberg earned both his Master of Science degree in Computer Science and his Bachelor of Science degree in Bioengineering at JHU.

Mike Simpson

Mr Simpson is Director of System Operations at the Gaithersburg, Maryland-based MEP, a US Commerce Department program which works nationally to improve the competitiveness of US manufacturing nationally. Mr Simpson’s team develops competitiveness initiatives in various areas of manufacturing excellence. He has led several MEP divisions including Information Systems and Center Operations and has also served as a consultant to the nuclear power industry and as an officer on the nuclear submarine USS John Adams. He has an MBA in innovation, science and technology management from George WashingtonUniversity and a BS in chemical engineering from Penn State.

Mr Voytek is MEP’s Chief Economist and Acting Team Leader of Policy and Research. He previously held senior research positions at the Urban Institute, Michigan Department of Commerce, US Department of Housing and Urban Development, National Alliance of Business, and Goodwill Industries International. His work has been published in Economic Development Quarterly, Government and Policy, Social Science Quarterly, and the Georgetown Law Review as well as several books and book chapters. He has a BA in economics (with honors) from St Edward’s University, Texas, and an MA from West Virginia University, and is currently working on a PhD in public policy and administration.

staff-brien_0Before accepting his present position in June 2014, Mr Poffenberger led the Hagerstown-Washington County Chamber for ten years. Under his leadership, the organization tripled its annual non-dues revenue, built its membership base, strengthened member retention, bolstered its communications and outreach efforts and successfully advocated its public policy agenda before the Maryland General Assembly. Earlier he served as director of the Small Business Development Center in Fauquier County, Virginia and worked in the private sector, including positions with General Electric and Scott Paper. In addition, Mr Poffenberger served as Legislative Assistant/Western Maryland Representative for United States Senator Barbara Mikulski. He is a graduate of Leadership Maryland’s class of 2000, and completed the US Chamber of Commerce’s Institute for Organizational Management in 2008. He has served on the Maryland Chamber’s Legislative Committee since 2004 and was an early partner in the Maryland Chamber’s Maryland Competitiveness Coalition.
