melissThe Aris Institute’s Chairman and Founder is The Honorable Aris Melissaratos, Dean of Business & Leadership at Stevenson University, Maryland; 2003-2007 Secretary of Business and Economic Development of Maryland; 2007-2013 Director of Johns Hopkins University’s Technology Research Commercialization; and 2014 Executive in Residence at Johns Hopkins University’s Carey School of Business. Mr Melissaratos’s honors include the Johns Hopkins University Distinguished Alumnus Award, the Johns Hopkins University Woodrow Wilson Award for Distinguished Government Service, and the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. He is co-author, with scholar N.J. Slabbert, of the book Innovation, The Key to Prosperity: Technology and America’s Role in the 21st Century Global Economy, introduced and endorsed by Dr Rita Colwell, 11th Director of the US National Science Foundation. The Aris Institute welcomes new members. Membership is free and is open to anyone with a lively interest in innovation and the other topics featured in our website. To join, e-mail us via our CONTACT page, telling us about yourself, your accomplishments and your interests. We publish the names of our members on our site, as well as information about our members that they provide for this purpose, but we won’t publish your e-mail address unless you ask us to. As a member of our innovation community, you’ll be welcome to send us updates about your projects and activities whenever you wish to. We’ll publish items about Aris Institute member activities from time to time so members can learn about what others in our community are doing.
